Biography

David's recent credits include large-scale productions at Radio City Music Hall, New York City Center, David Geffen Hall/Lincoln Center, Hudson Theatre on Broadway, The Cunard Building/Moment Factory, and installations for artists Charles Atlas and Oliver Jeffers. In his consulting practice, David is currently working on production and operations planning for The Perelman Center. This work multi-venue building, being built from the ground up and scheduled to open in 2023, is located at the heart of the World Trade Center site in Lower Manhattan.

Prior to his independent practice, David was Director of Production for Lincoln Center Festival. Lincoln Center Festival presented large-scale international works annually each July in a festival format, utilizing the world-class venues at Lincoln Center. Focusing on contemporary artists and multidisciplinary works, the Festival premiered over 130 works throughout its 20-year run.

Prior to joining Lincoln Center, David was Director of Production for the New 42nd Street Inc. The New42 is the landlord of 5 historic theaters on 42nd Street in NYC. Additionally, the New42 operates the Duke on 42nd Street and the Drama Desk Award winning New Victory Theater. The New Victory Theater, the oldest working theater in New York City, re-opened after an extensive renovation in 1995 as New York City's premier venue for kids and families. The New 42nd Street Studios, is an 80,000 sq./ft. building which houses rehearsal studios servicing the Broadway, Off-Broadway and Dance communities. In 16 years as Director of Production, David oversaw the presentation of 180+ national and international companies in the Duke, Studios and the Victory and originated/managed over $17m of capital construction projects.

Prior to joining the New42, David was Technical Manager at the Citizens Theatre in Glasgow, Scotland. While at the Citz, David oversaw all technical elements for 35 productions, including several large-scale works for the Citizens at the Edinburgh International Festival. David also completed and commissioned a £3m expansion of the rehearsal facilities and workshops of the historic Citizens Theatre.

As part of his consulting practice, David contributes to peer reviews, feasibility studies, budget, production and capital construction/expansion projects.
